Condensing Your Text

Tips for Condensing your Announcement Text

If you are having trouble getting your announcement verse to fit on the design you have chosen, here are some suggestions and an example:

  • Combine the date, time, and year onto one line by using numerals instead of writing out the numbers. See the example below.

  • Use the parent's name in the actual verse instead of putting it at the bottom. This saves room because there then is no need for a skipped line between the verse and the names.

  • If you are having an open house or party, you may find it simpler to simply announce the graduation on the announcement, without all the details of the celebration, and enclose an open house card to give the rest of the information.
